One of the little known cultures is Padaung or also called as giraffe women, let's see how and why they are told that way.

They are told that because of the brass rings that adorn their necks. The real thing is that the longer the neck is, the greater the attraction towards the men of the ethnic group. Apart from highlighting her beauty, wearing it is a sign that women come from a rich family. The rings in the neck are increasing one per year from 5 to 12 years of age. From that, the largest number of rings are added until his neck reaches its top. The rings never take them off, they sleep, they bathe and they do everything in their life with this hulk around the throat.

His story
Myths and legends were created that were not so true and that today many people still believe that they are the cause of the use of rings. It was said that they used it to protect themselves from the attack of the tigers, since these big cats usually throw themselves at the neck of their victims.
On the other hand it was heard that the collars avoided being enslaved by Burmese assailants since the great weight of their ornaments prevented them from carrying out heavy tasks, which reduces their value as slaves. Both stories are not true, it is known that more than once the settlers of this ethnic group have entered in panic before the appearance of a tiger and, in addition, they have suffered mortal attacks. On the other hand it is known that Kayan women, through the years, have been very hardworking. In both cases these statements belie the legends. It is also believed that they do it to make women look like a dragon, an important figure in their culture and that protects them from the dangers of mountains and diseases.
